NEW head coach Martyn Ellis says he has been impressed by the attitude his Latchford Albion players have shown in pre-season so far.
Ellis, who was formerly in charge of Shevington Sharks, takes the reins at Victoria Park for 2019 and has now had two weeks of working with his squad.
They are now set to move their sessions indoors and Ellis says that will increase the quality of work they can do with the ball.
“I’m really enjoying it. The lads are a great bunch and they are really buying into what myself, Dave Yii and Dave Rudd are throwing at them,” he said.
“It’s been a tough start so far, but everyone is putting the hard work in.
“Even at this early stage, I can see improvements across the skill levels of all of the players.
“Asking lads to train outdoors on cold wet evenings can be a challenge, but numbers are really encouraging.
“I have been impressed with the attitude, and team spirit, within the group.
“With the weather being a factor in the quality of ball work you can do outdoors, by moving indoors we can work on varying things.
“The effort we can put in now will pay dividends come season time.”
