WARRINGTON Wolves Volleyball Club are celebrating after winning the Des Jeffers tournament for the first time in their history.
They took time out of their National League season to compete in the Merseyside League’s premier club tournament and emerged with their first trophy of the season.
Wolves made sure the trophy would be coming back to Warrington by beating National League rivals Chester in the final, winning by scoring more points over two timed sets.
Before that, they saw off Liverpool FOBS, LJMU B, Wallasey and Accrington in the group stage to set up the Chester clash, in which Oskar Waga’s powerful jump serve proved crucial as Warrington took it with a 29-23 aggregate score.
Squad: Phil Knowles, Robert Meczynski, Paul Bedworth, Matt Agius, Valentinas Jaunius, Oskar Waga.
