A FIRST victory at National League level continues to elude Warrington Wolves Volleyball Club.

Their third consecutive long away trip saw them beaten in games against Haughton Darlington and Blyth.

However, head coach Peter Guenari says he can still see the potential within his side despite their slow start to the campaign.

“We need keep working hard and improve of our consistency,” he said.

“We definitely have the potential as we show in flashes. It's consistency we need to bring into our game.”

After losing the first two sets 25-17 against Haughton, some strong hitting from Fulons Solbakken led Wolves to a 25-22 third-set win.

They traded points with their opponents in the fourth set, but Haughton’s experience shone through as they converted a 15-13 lead into a 25-17 win to seal the match.

Having travelled with a squad of only seven players, fatigue was an issue for Warrington but they competed well in their second game against Blyth.

They lost the first set 25-16 but hit back in a thrilling second set to win 29-27.

However, their exertions caught up with them as they lost the last two sets 25-16 and 26-24.
