DOM Crosby's loan move from Warrington Wolves to Leeds Rhinos has worked out for the former Wigan Warriors prop forward.

The 27-year-old has now signed a three-year contract at Headingley.

Crosby joined Leeds in July and made seven appearances as he helped Kevin Sinfield’s side secure their Super League place.

Crosby said: "I’m extremely excited and grateful for this opportunity.

"It’s a club with a great history and passionate fans and I’m proud to be a part of it.

"I can’t wait for pre-season and I look forward to giving my best for the club and my teammates."

Crosby had joined The Wire for 2017, reuniting with his best pal Jack Hughes, after helping his hometown club Wigan beat Warrington in the previous year's Grand Final at Old Trafford.

Injuries and personal family issues restricted his game time at The Halliwell Jones Stadium to 17 appearances.

Rhinos' director of rugby Kevin Sinfield said: "He impressed everyone at the club with his attitude on and off the pitch and I am sure he will make big strides after a full pre-season with the Rhinos.

"As we look towards a new era for the team, it was important that we secured players of Dom’s experience having been a winner during his time at Wigan and I am sure he will have a big influence on the group, especially our young forwards.

"At 27, he is coming into his prime as a prop and he will benefit from working with Dave Furner during the closed season."

Crosby joined the Wigan Academy in 2010 from Hindley and, after brief dual registration spells with Widnes Vikings and South Wales Scorpions, he made his first-team debut in the Challenge Cup against North Wales Crusaders in 2012.

He also played for Leigh under dual registration.

Crosby made an impression at Super League level in 2013 and was a member of the Wigan side who appeared in four consecutive Grand Finals from 2013 until 2016.

In total he made 102 appearances for Wigan, scoring seven tries.
