PHOENIX Fire boxers shone on an international card in front of a sold-out crowd last Thursday.

Seven of the eight Phoenix fighters on show at Eagle Sports and Social Club won their bouts, with boxers from Ireland also featuring on the show.

Elite flyweight Imad Nasseb boxed excellently off the back foot to earn a split decision victory over Dublin City’s Ricky Nesbitt, who had just won bronze at the World University Games.

Casey Brown was the unanimous victory against John Marshall in an elite middleweight contest as he controlled the bout throughout with his accurate jab.

Another unanimous decision went to Niall Gallagher against Kian Flaherty, while Luke Turner was also a clear winner over Ray Scully.

Mason Woodford edged a close encounter against West Wirral’s Jamie Smith – winning via split decision – while Jack Roberts put in an excellent display against Jack Dixon of Wigton to earn a unanimous verdict.

Another Phoenix winner was elite lightweight Bayode Oluieye, who prevailed in a close bout with Washington’s Brad Bradshaw via split decision.

Phoenix Fire return to Eagle Sports and Social Club for their annual Christmas Punch event on December 14.
