WARRINGTON Wolves volleyball team were just edged out in their first ever National League game against Hull.

In the best-of-five set match, Warrington were beaten 3-1 but coach Pete Guenari remained optimistic about their chances at the new level.

“Strangely, we never played to our full potential. We have much more to offer,” he said.

“With more hard work at training, we will play with more consistency and confidence and our first victory will not be long in coming.”

After losing the first set 25-16, the Wolves regrouped to claim the second 25-23 and level the match.

Hopes were high they could go on and claim victory, but Hull took advantage of some hesitant Warrington play to win the next two sets 25-14 and 25-21 to secure the match.
