Abbey Hulton United 2 Rylands 2
(Rylands won 4-3 on penalties)
GOALKEEPER Graeme McCall was the shoot-out hero for Rylands as they progressed in the North West Counties League First Division Cup.
With the game ending 2-2 after 90 minutes, McCall saved two Abbey Hulton penalties while George Riley, Warren Gerrard, Nevil Picton and Harry Molyneux scored their spot-kicks to send Blues through.
Rylands had made a nightmare start as they fell behind in the first minute thanks to Joshua Tune’s goal, but Tom Croughan quickly brought them level.
Liam Moran’s superb long-range effort put the visitors ahead but a home equaliser late on sent the game to penalties.
