FUTSAL in Warrington has taken a big step forward with the launch of its first ever club.
Warrington Futsal Club will compete on a local and regional level within FA-sanctioned Futsal leagues and competitions as well as having teams from under 10s level all the way through to open age, with plans in place to form a women’s team shortly.
Futsal is a small-sided, indoor version of football using a smaller, heavier ball to place more focus on technique.
“The club launch is really the final link in the chain for us,” club chairman Karl Burns said.
“We are now able to offer both recreational Futsal within the Wire Futsal programme and competitive playing opportunities for players with Warrington Futsal Club.
“Our strong partnerships with the University of Chester and Priestley College means we can also offer a genuine pathway leading into higher education courses.”
