STEVE Price says he is “super proud” of his Warrington Wolves side as they booked their place in the Super League Grand Final.

The Wire stunned heavily-favoured St Helens 18-13 at the Totally Wicked Stadium to assure they will contest the Old Trafford showpiece for the fourth time.

Two Tom Lineham tries and one from Jack Hughes proved enough to win a dramatic game, with Wigan or Castleford lying in wait next Saturday.

Price says there was “something burning” within his side to put right their Challenge Cup Final defeat to Catalans Dragons and praised their “super effort” in defence to keep the League Leaders’ Shield winners to just one try.

“I’m super proud,” he said.

“We spoke all week that we needed all 17 players to contribute to our best game of the season. To keep them to one try was a super effort.

“To be able to consume all that and keep turning them away, I’m just super proud.

“We had to cling on, they have been the number one offensive, defensive team.

“To come here at their home ground and dish up a performance like that, I’m really happy for the players.”
