STEVE Price insists there is no pressure on his Warrington Wolves side ahead of their Super League semi-final at St Helens tonight.

The Wire travel to the Totally Wicked Stadium aiming to reach their fourth Super League Grand Final.

However, blocking their path to Old Trafford is a Saints side who won the League Leaders’ Shield and had seven of their players named in the 2018 Super League Dream Team on Monday.

Saints finished 15 points ahead of The Wire after 30 league games and have beaten them in all three meetings this season, but Price says his side will relish their underdog status.

“There’s no pressure on us. Nobody gives us a chance,” he told the Guardian.

“We didn’t have anybody nominated for the Dream Team and nobody gave us a sniff of being in the top four.

“This club has shown over the years that we quite like being underdogs.

“We’ve had a decent record at their ground over the years and this group loves playing there

“It’s the best time of year. We’ve worked extremely hard all year to get to this point.

“We’ve had some pretty good field sessions and the boys are just itching to get out there now.

“We’re not getting ahead of ourselves. All 17 of our players are going to have to be at their very best.

“We’re at the business end and we’re excited to challenge ourselves against the best team in Super League.”

Price confirmed The Wire will be at full strength for tonight’s game after coming through Friday’s 36-23 win at Wakefield Trinity with no new injuries, with long-term absentees Ben Currie, Mitch Brown and Jack Johnson the only players ruled out.

Kevin Brown and Tyrone Roberts have recovered from an abductor muscle problem and concussion respectively and will take the place of Declan Patton and Harvey Livett in the halves, while Tom Lineham will come back in on the left wing after completing a two-match ban.

Price's two biggest selection dilemmas seem to be in at right centre – with Ryan Atkins and Toby King fighting it out to partner Josh Charnley – and whether the final spot in the matchday 17 goes to Harvey Livett or Bodene Thompson.

With 24 fit and healthy players to choose from, Price was quick to praise his backroom team for putting him in this position.

“It was really important to come out of Friday fresh. They can be difficult games when you’re set in the top four,” he said.

“We’re all healthy, in good shape and really excited.

“It’s a credit to our high performance staff that we have a squad full of fit bodies at this stage of the season.

“It doesn’t happen often and we’re at game number 36 of the season. They now have the platform to show their full capabilities on Thursday.

“Every time we step out on the field, our challenge is to be better and Thursday is no different.

“We’re 80 minutes away from a Grand Final. All the hard work we’ve done since November comes down to this.”
