WARRIORS of Warrington's 2018 club champions have been crowned.

The annual championships, staged at Orford Jubilee Hub, bring out the best in the club's swimmers across the age ranges.

Paul Daintith, Warriors' home gala coordinator, said “This annual championship is the highlight of the Warriors home gala calendar.

Warrington Guardian:

"The swimmers look forward to performing the best that they can in order to try to achieve personal bests, medals, and trophies.

"They enjoy competing against all of their friends, but it’s always great to watch the swimmers supporting and cheering on their friends as well.”

Swimmers competed against each other per gender and per age group and organisers report that there was immense excitement poolside as some fantastic performances ensued, with the majority of children attaining personal best times, medals and endeavour, bronze, silver, gold or platinum badges for race times.

This year’s age group champions are Matthew Domville and Coral Farrell (17 years and over), Jessica Sholl (16 years), Dan Kinsella (15 years), Charis Davidson (14 years), Oliver Sutcliffe and Millie Ravenscroft (13 years), Matthew Warburton and Sophie Weston (12 years), Ronnie Weall and Ava Vincent (11 years), Thomas Hilton and Gabriella Hunt (10 years), Liam Briars and Zitong Yang (nine years), Ewan Whittaker and Poppy Domville (eight years), Joshua Daintith (seven years).

The winner of the mixed novice 25-metre race category was Sebastian Hampson, aged nine.

Warriors' presentation night is to be held on Friday, October 12, when trophies, certificates and medals will be handed to the top-six swimmers per gender and age group.

Warriors are looking for a new sponsor for their annual Percy Mason open meet which takes place on December 1 and 2.
