WARRINGTON Town manager Paul Carden has moved to strengthen his side’s attacking options.

Versatile forward Jake Kirby has signed on loan from Stockport County and is in contention to make his debut in tomorrow’s clash with Evo-Stik Premier Division leaders South Shields at Cantilever Park.

Kirby, who has worked with Carden during his spell at Tranmere Rovers, is capable of playing on either flank, as a main striker or in an attacking midfield role.

The 24-year-old’s arrival is a timely one for Yellows, who have seen their forward line depleted by the departure of Richard Brodie, while top scorer Tony Gray is said to be struggling with a hamstring problem.

Town have also agreed a deal to sign left-back Alex Whittle, but he is still awaiting international clearance to play.
