Walney Central 54 Latchford Albion 14
LATCHFORD Albion’s season ended miserably on Saturday as their play-off campaign never got off the ground.
Perhaps feeling the effects of the long journey to Cumbria, the Victoria Park outfit started poorly and hosts Walney Central ran in four converted tries early on.
Adam Wadsworth crossed to reduce the deficit, but Walney racked up two more scores to be 34-4 ahead at the break.
To their eternal credit, Latchford fought back after the break as Phil Woolacott and Jake Ashton scored tries – with Chris Griffiths converting one of them – but the hosts cantered away again to build up a dominant scoreline and end Albion's promotion hopes.
