KING and Queen A made it a dozen Challenge Cup successes when they beat Tetley Walker A at Grange Sports on Saturday.

The King came through 197-178 a late change of venue, with Monk Sports Club having been double booked.

Six winners for the victors were led by man-of-the-match J Brown, who overhauled D Fisher 21-11.

Next best card, 21-12, was returned by A Manuel against S Hunt.

The best performer for Tetley, who have never won the competition, was J Taylor with his 21-13 success against D Woodward.

WARRINGTON’S representative team were narrowly beaten by the eventual winners Barnsley in the semi finals of the Federation Eight-a-Side Cup at the weekend.

Playing teams four divisions above them, the Warrington side produced some fantastic performances.

They beat Cheshire Parks 7-1 and then defeated strong Division One team Leeds 5-3 in the quarter finals.

With the scores level at 4-4 in the semi-final against another Division One side, the count back was enough for Barnsley to win on aggregate.

LEE Johnstone came out on top in the Brian Wilkinson Trophy at Grange Sports Club on Sunday.

He defeated Rob Lawrenson in the decider, with Carl Armitage and Chris Ashton bowing out in the semi finals.
