Burtonwood Bridge 36 Crosfields A 2
DESPITE 10 changes to their team, Burtonwood Bridge avenged their Warrington Alliance Cup Final defeat to Crosfields A in stunning fashion.
Head coach Lee Cunningham was forced to put his trust in youth, but his side delivered a blistering display that he said was “beyond his wildest dreams.”
Liam Batty crossed twice for Bridge, with Will Weir, Aidan Doyle, Adam Morris and Tommy Robinson also crossing as Jos Blackburn Woods converted all six tries.
Dave Manfredi’s early penalty was all Soap could muster in response.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I envisage a performance like that,” Cunningham said.
“The level of performance, especially from our youngsters, was a credit to themselves.
“I thought the lads encapsulated everything that Burtonwood rugby stands for.”
