EACH time The Wire have met Catalans Dragons in the Challenge Cup they have gone on to win at Wembley.

Can they do it for a third time?

Dragons were slayed in the 2010 semi-final at Widnes, with Tony Smith's Warrington Wolves side going on to retain the silverware with victory over Leeds Rhinos at Wembley.

Two years later Wolves came up trumps in the quarter-final at Stade Gilbert Brutus in Perpignan, before ending the hopes of Huddersfield Giants in the last four and Leeds again in the decider.

Quarter Final, Sunday, May 13, 2012:

Catalans Dragons 22 Warrington Wolves 32

WARRINGTON pulled off an impressive victory in the south of France, the first team to do so all season, but made hard work of the second half after going into the break 20-6 ahead.

Two early second-half tries gave Dragons hope but tries from Paul Wood and Chris Bridge sealed the win late on.

Veteran full-back Brett Hodgson was Wolves' hero, setting up a try for winger Joel Monaghan, scoring one himself and kicking three goals to give Te Wire a 14-6 advantage after half-an-hour.

Perhaps fitting then that it was Hodgson who went on to win the Lance Todd Trophy as man of the match in the final against Leeds Rhinos.

Warrington Wolves 54-12 Catalans Dragons

LOUIS Anderson scored a hat-trick against his future employers in the semi-final of the Challenge Cup, with Warrington running out 54-12 winners at Widnes.

Dragons could not cope with Warrington's pace and precision but did themselves no favours by coming up with a string of errors, in their attempt to spring a second semi-final shock in four years after defeating Wigan in 2007.

Full-back Clint Greenshields scored both tries for the French side, but for the second year in a row the Widnes ground was jam-packed with jubilant fans wearing primrose and blue.
