Runcorn Town 1 Warrington Town 4

YELLOWS got their first victory of pre-season after coming from behind to beat Runcorn Town on Saturday.

Paul Carden again fielded an experimental line-up featuring several trialists, while new signings Josh Amis and Ben Garrity scored their first goals for the club.

Tony Gray got a late fourth as Town ran out convincing winners in the end, but one concerning note was an early injury to striker Jamie McDonald.

Amis came on to replace him and, after a trialist had put the hosts ahead, the former Marine man got on the end of Richard Brodie's cross to equalise.

The duo linked up again after the break, with Brodie putting in another delivered that Amis headed home.

With Yellows now in control, Garrity pounced on the rebound after a shot was saved before Gray capitalised on an error from the Runcorn goalkeeper to score his side's fourth goal.

Warrington's next pre-season test comes tomorrow, Tuesday, when they welcome National League North side Stockport County to Cantilever Park.
