Thatto Heath Crusaders B 16 Latchford Albion A 24
A BRACE of late tries saw Latchford Albion A inflict a first defeat of the season upon North West Men’s League Division Five leaders Thatto Heath Crusaders B.
The hosts were leading 16-14 when Jake Ashton and Luke Hickman crossed in quick succession to win the game for the Victoria Park outfit.
Jack Phillips converted Hickman’s effort to take his tally for the afternoon to two overall.
Before the interval, Chris Brown and Carwyn Chamberlain had crossed for Dave Yii’s men to edge them ahead, but the hosts’ second try put them 10-8 in front at the break.
Chris Griffiths – a former Thatto Heath player – grabbed Albion’s other try after the interval before their late show.
Albion climb up to seventh in the table following their victory.
