Latchford Albion 28 Pilkington Recs A 30

LATCHFORD Albion played their part in an enthralling encounter, but fell just short of victory at Victoria Park.

In their first game since the resignation of head coach Lee Smith, Albion pushed their visitors all the way and never gave up hope of emerging victorious.

Morgan Nicholas and skipper Danny Brown crossed in the first half as the sides turned around level at 10-10.

However, Pilks were always able to keep Latchford at arm’s length despite home tries from George Briggs, Phil Woollacott and Jake Ashall, all converted by Chris Joynson.

Palin, Mather and Feather all doubled their tallies in the second half, with Mal Mason also scoring for Albion.
