APPLETON Tigers could not prevent Oakmere winning the Cheshire Women’s Cricket League Division One title on Sunday.
Batting first in a rain-affected game, Appleton set the hosts a victory target of 103 after they reached 102-2 from 30 overs, with Emma Barlow top-scoring with 41.
While opening bowlers Sami Fowler and Kathryn Jackson checked the hosts’ progress in reply, Oakmere reached their target for the loss of three wickets, two of those falling to Olivia Horsfield.
