WARRINGTON’S weekend schedule was wrecked by the weather as only one of the club’s senior teams completed a game.
The seconds were the lucky ones as they visited Oxton, beating the weather and their hosts to record an 85-run victory.
Warrington were in big trouble at 61-7 batting first, but Raj Soni (67) and Simon Hewitt (24 not out) allowed them to reach a defendable total of 166.
Hewitt then chipped in with the ball, taking 3-18 before Phil Whelan claimed 5-25 to destroy the hosts’ middle order, bowling them out for just 85.
The firsts travel to Bollington on Saturday, while the seconds and fourths host Brooklands and Timperley respectively.
The thirds face a double-header, travelling to Bunbury’s seconds on Saturday before hosting Elworth on Sunday.
