THE Rugby Football League has launched a series of workshops for community clubs that will enable them to capitalise on the surge in interest in the sport created by Rugby League World Cup 2013.

The nearest ones to this area will be at Thatto Heath Crusaders, Hindley and Chorley Panthers.

Record numbers of people will get their first taste of Rugby League during the five-week tournament, which is already raising the sport's profile to new heights, and the workshops will help clubs harness that interest to keep people involved.

A new website, www.extraordinaryrugby.com, details how people can become involved in the sport in a wide range of capacities, including player, match official, coach or supporter.

Starting on Wednesday, a 'How to grow your club' workshop will be run across a number of venues for a two-week period.

Held in conjunction with the Sports Marketing Network, the course will also provide support and ideas to help grow the club long after the tournament ends.

Everyone who attends will be given a free resource and the opportunity to order free personalised posters and banners to help promote their club.

The workshops will last for approximately two and half hours and are free to attend.

However, space will be limited.

To book your place, email vicky.turner@rfl.uk.com and include your name, contact number, club and which workshop you wish to attend.
