HULL FC arrive at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on the back of just one loss from their last seven outings.

Only one of those victories, though, came against current top-six opposition, while the solitary loss was no disgrace as they fell 28-20 at home to Super League leaders Wigan Warriors.

The run of results has brought Peter Gentle’s side into the top six, but just as importantly for the Airlie Birds it has given them the taste for winning after an opening two months in which they were unable to string two victories together.

That was the period in which Wolves won 24-10 at the KC Stadium, dominating the second half to maintain an unbeaten start to the season at that stage.

Wolves were not at full strength that day, with Lee Briers, Adrian Morley, Chris Bridge, Ben Harrison and Ben Westwood all sidelined.

A stronger FC starting line-up is expected tomorrow, Friday, with skipper Gareth Ellis and last season’s Exiles stand off Daniel Holdsworth back from injury.

The influential pair helped the Black and Whites to a 48-12 demolition of London Broncos on the team’s last Super League outing and a 24-6 defeat of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in the Tetley’s Challenge Cup fifth round at the weekend.

They will be missing the dangerous England Knights skipper Joe Westerman, though, as he has joined fellow back rowers Danny Tickle and Ben Galea on the sidelines with a dislocated thumb that required surgery.

Prop Liam Watts misses out with a leg injury too.
