THE final piece in the jigsaw is needed for a new event in Lymm. As part of Lymm Festival in June, the first Lymm Historic Transport Day will take place on June 23. The biggest collection of historic working boats seen in Lymm will be making their way to the village some of them travelling for up to a week to get to the festival. While on the nearby May Queen field there will be nearly 300 vintage and classic cars, motor bikes and bikes. The village hall will have model railways and model ships. And the show also plans to feature transport rides on tractors, boats and miniature railways. But organisers need just one piece to make sure the event is a success. Event co-ordinator Alan Williams said “Because of the anticipated crowds we have arranged a park and ride at Lymm Rugby Club. “We thought it would be a great idea to have a vintage single-decker bus to ferry visitors to the village centre and we thought we had one booked but they have now dropped out. “We are hoping that a Warrington Guardian reader will come forward or put us in touch with someone to complete our event.” n Anyone who may be able to help should call Alan Williams on 754080 or e-mail lymmtransport @gmail.com.
