Pick up a pint in Thelwall

THE opening of the relaunched Pickering Arms in Thelwall saw MP David Mowat attend along with a number of community figures.

Vicar of All Saints Church Douglas Gardner also attended after the £200,000 makeover.

The launch night also gave the new operators of the pub, Inglenook Inns and Taverns, the chance to welcome the community.

Mr Mowat said: “I was delighted to be able to join the new team at the Pickering Arms for their launch event and I wish them well in their new venture.

“Every strong local community needs at least one thriving pub at its heart and I hope that 'the Pick' will continue to go from strength to strength.”

James Waddington, managing director of Inglenook Inns and Taverns, said: “We were delighted to get support from David and other key people in the community for our launch night.

“We wanted to show local people what they can look forward to in future.”
