A TALENTED hairdresser will no doubt need a new trophy cabinet after picking up a variety of prizes at the Cheshire and Red Rose Championships.

Paris Amelia Tourney, of Newlyn Gardens, Penketh, styled her way to success in Stockport against hundreds of other hairdressers to collect two trophies and three medals.

The 25-year-old said: "I'm absolutely delighted as I’ve worked so hard towards these competitions and I always want to challenge myself with the hairdressing skills I have.

"I didn't think for one second I would win as so many people had entered."

Paris won two first awards and two second awards in the categories senior ladies fashion long hair, senior ladies hair up and bridal hair up.

After wowing the judges and scoring highly in all the categories, the freelance senior stylist, based in Penketh salon Vogue, was then awarded the championship trophy.

Despite the excitement of being crowned a winner during a momentous year for the stylist, Paris has still got her sights set on the future.

She added: "I was over the moon and couldn't believe it.

"I’ve been hairdressing for 10 years now and this year I made the massive leap to become my own boss.

"One of the judges approached me after the competition and said I must enter for the Blackpool National Hairdressing Competition in March 2015.

"It’s an even bigger event with even more hairdressers competing so that will be my next challenge I’m setting myself."
