Nursery praised by Ofsted

A FEARNHEAD nursery has been praised by an education watchdog for its team of 'well-qualified staff' and their 'clear drive for improvement'.

Little Browsers Pre-School, which is based at Cinnamon Brow Primary School on Perth Close, was given an overall rating of good following a visit from Ofsted inspectors on June 29.

In the report, which can be read in full on the Ofsted website, staff were commended for their 'rigorous understanding of their responsibilities to protect children from harm'.

Youngsters with special educational needs and disabilities were highlighted as being 'very well supported'.

Staff give children clear and consistent messages about the expectations of how to behave.

As a result, children behave well and are able to share and take turns, the inspector added.

The pre-school missed out on the highest rating of outstanding as, on occasions, staff do not always provide younger children with opportunities to contribute their knowledge during planned group time.

Children also have few opportunities to extend their interests of mathematics in an outdoor environment.
