A CULCHETH dance teacher has bared all for a cheeky calendar that will raise money for St Rocco's Hospice.

Former professional ballet dancer Janice Mutimer runs SwingRoc classes in Padgate and Grappenhall and persuaded almost all of her staff to strip off for the good cause.

Half of the funds raised will also go to Willowbrook Hospice in St Helens.

Janice, of Sephton Avenue, said she got the idea during a dance event in Buxton in March.

She added: "We always do cabaret-style numbers and it got us thinking. We got talking about doing something a bit different for charity and we thought it would be a fun thing to do."

The photos feature the SwingRoc team in various states of undress and there are also pictures with their husbands and partners who mostly got to keep their clothes on.

Janice said: "It was one of those strange things where you think: 'What have I let myself in for?

"The idea wasn't to be Calendar Girls but just a bit risqué. We tried to incorporate a dance theme or something related to the month like Wimbledon in June in each picture."

Among the photographers helping out for the good cause was Culcheth photographer Martin O'Neill, who runs Studio 54 at the CPS Centre.

Janice, 50, added: "We were self-conscious as we're all of an older age but once we got into it, it was fun.

"It was funny having Martin give me directions. You forget that you're half naked.

"Funnily enough, a lot of the staff said they wouldn't have done this when they were younger. I suppose you get to an age where you think: 'Oh well, it's all for a good cause!'"
