WARRINGTON Athletics Club's Alex Wort finished seventh on his Great Britain international debut in the under 20s combined events match against Spain and France in Cardiff.
Wort, GB’s second highest finisher, recorded personal best performances in the 60m, 60m hurdles, pole vault, 1000m and indoor high jump for an overall personal best score of 4,760 points, smashing his own Warrington club record by 118 points.
He clocked 7.49secs for 60m (716pts), achieved 6.28m in the long jump (648pts), 11.22m in the shot put (559 pts) and 1.69m in the high jump (536pts) for a first day total of 2,459 points.
Wort recorded 8.48secs for 60m hurdles (865pts), 4.15m in the pole vault (659pts) and 2mins 48.95secs in the 1,000m (777pts) for a second day total of 2,305 points.
