Victim Support is calling for victims and witnesses of crime in Warrington to take part in focus groups.

The Victim Services Advocates Project will be holding focus groups and individual interviews over the next three months for people affected by anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse, sexual assault and hate crime.

Paul Gallagher, victim’s services advocate for Cheshire, said: “We want to find out how people have been treated either as a victim or a witness by the police and criminal justice system and whether they found suitable services to support them through this difficult time.”

Reports on the groups’ findings will be used to raise awareness of issues affecting victims and witnesses and to make sure that each new police and crime commissioner has these issues on their agenda when they are elected in November.

Victims must have experienced the crime within the past two years and not currently be involved in criminal justice proceedings or a court case relating to the crime.

l If you are interested in taking part in one of the groups or want to arrange an interview contact Paul Gallagher at paul.gallgher@victimsupport.org.uk or call 07506 724961.
