SOLDIERS from the Mercian Regiment and two Wolves stars helped to launch a new charity bid.
Warrington Wolves’ new shirt sponsors Bensons for Beds launched their deal with a bed-push from the store on Winwick Road to The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
And the soldiers were joined on the ride by players Richie Myler and Chris Riley. For every game that the Wolves win in Super League next season, Bensons will donate £1,000 to charity to be divided equally between Help for Heroes and The Wolves Charitable Foundation.
Sarah Fearnley, of Greenfields Avenue, was the winner of our competition last week when we asked fans to send in their dreams for Wolves in 2011. This was her entry: “The 2011 dream is to shake Super League up, and of course retain the Challenge Cup. Every Wire fan knows what it means to finish at the Theatre Of Dreams!”
Sarah received the first new home shirt from the players.
