A TAXI driver appeared at Runcorn Magistrates' Court yesterday (Tuesday) charged with attempting to murder his wife.
Anthony Green, aged 47, was remanded in custody by Halton magistrates, accused of attempting to murder Marietta Green at their home in Wavertree Avenue, Widnes, on Sunday, July 30.
His solicitor, Keith Porter, made no application for bail during the five-minute hearing.
Prosecuting solicitor Peter Bowen asked for the case to be adjourned until August 11.
Reporting restrictions were not lifted.
