FAMILY and friends have paid tribute to Rudheath Parish Councillor David Trigg, who died suddenly in hospital on Friday March 9, aged 58.

David, of Brook Lane, was born in Kings Lynn and moved to Winsford and then Lostock Gralam.

He worked as a long distance lorry driver.

Love came unexpectedly three-and-a-half years ago when, after suffering a stroke and being forced to give up work, he volunteered to work at the Northwich shopmobility scheme.

There he met Sue Ley, who is severely physically disabled after being born with cerebral palsy. She is also a Rudheath Parish Councillor.

The couple married on October 24, 1998 at Northwich Register Office.

Sue said: "I can't put into words how wonderful he was. We were so happy.

"Everybody thought the world of him at shopmobility. Everybody liked him.

"He was lovely - and an extremely caring man."

Meanwhile Dave's family, especially his children, have been of great support to Sue.

"It's like having an extended family, they have been marvellous," said Sue.

Rudheath Parish Councillors expressed their sadness.

A statement read: "David was a hard working member of the environment and playing fields committees and will be missed by the members.

"The council sends its deepest sympathy to his family, especially his wife Clr Sue Trigg."

Christine Pickthall, from Vale Royal Disability Services which runs the shopmobility scheme said: "David played a key role in helping us to set up the shopmobility scheme.

"He was a valuable member who contributed a great deal. He will be sorely missed." The funeral took place yesterday, Tuesday at Witton Church.
