Oaklands BG 5

Broken Cross 1

OAKLANDS went almost 90 minutes without a goal, then scored five in less than half an hour to clinch the Mid Cheshire Sunday FA Cup.

Trailing to a Steve Yarwood goal for Broken Cross five minutes from the end of the final at Witton Albion, Oaklands were heading for defeat.

But they sent the game into a sensational extra-time period with Steve Arnold's deflected shot two minutes from the end.

It was the introduction of Eddie Bishop as a substitute late in normal time which made the difference for Oaklands as they stormed to victory in the extra period.

Paul Hennin scored two goals in the first half of extra-time, Robbie Moores getting a double in the second, to clinch a scoreline of 5-1 which didn't reflect how tight the match was.

More cup glory could be coming the way of Oaklands this Sunday when they take on Egerton BC in the Mid Cheshire Sunday League Cup final at Middlewich Town.
