THERE was little to warm Witton hearts on a bitterly cold night in Belper on Tuesday.

Nigel Gleghorn's men saw the good work of forcing an equalizer two minutes from time undone by Sean Gummer's winner a minute later.

The match was heading for a 0-0 with both goalkeepers in inspired form up until the 76th minute, but Dean Greygoose was then beaten by Michael Allsop.

Albion considered themselves unfortunate as Charlie Boyd appeared to clear the ball before it crossed the line, but the referee's assistant gave the goal.

In a twist of fate, Witton finally beat home hero Steve Roome in the 88th minute, and it was the other referee's assistant who this time ruled in their favour.

He kept his flag down as the home defence stood waiting for an offside decision and David Anane latched on to Charlie Boyd's pass to finish.

But almost straight from the kick-off, Sean Gummer took a pass from the right and his shot hit both both posts before bouncing into the net.

Witton: Greygoose, Staley, Garner, Pritchard, Morgan (Murphy 63), Graystone, Heywood (Wallace 75), Boyd, Hennin, Hughes, Anane (Faulkner 90)
