Ryan McDonough, of Grebe Close, and Lawrence West, of Longridge, allegedly seized the man in Broad Oak Lane, Mobberley.
It is believed another driver alerted the police.
Yesterday (Tuesday), DI John Birt confirmed that police had also been alerted that the man was missing by the alleged victim's girlfriend.
The man was then allegedly forced to drive to Liverpool where McDonough and West were joined by five men.
The men then allegedly drove back to Knutsford.
All seven were later arrested by police in Northwich Road.
At Macclesfield Magistrates' Court on Thursday, McDonough, 30, and West, 26, were remanded in custody until March 27 to appear at Chester Crown Court.
Five men from Liverpool, who also appeared before magistrates in connection with the incident, were bailed.
