AFTER a hectic summer schedule, Warrington Youth Orchestra will be returning to normal this month when the people of Warrington will have the chance to hear all the three orchestras at the Christmas Concert at Parr Hall next Saturday, December 13, from 7:30pm.
This will be followed on December 20, by the annual free carol concert at Bridgewater High School at 10.45am with drinks and mince pies and a chance to see the orchestra in fancy dress
Intensive
At both concerts the orchestras will be playing the music rehearsed at Bala during an intensive music course in the summer. There will also be the chance to buy the DVD of the orchestra's trip to Prague. CDs of the concert with the Hilden Musikschule in October last year will also be available.
Sir Simon Rattle, conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, has said that it is difficult for him to maintain contact with the Orchestra, and has reluctantly resigned as President.
Next year sees another full programme of concerts, the highlight being the exchange visit to Germany with the Hilden Musikschule.
The orchestra has a number of instruments available for rental at a nominal charge (bassoons, oboes, cellos and horns) for youngsters who wish to try out these instruments.
If you would like more information about the Orchestra or wish to join, pcontact Roy Green (490527) or Kath Whyte (0161 941 2350).
