BLIND from birth, 18-time Grammy award-winner Stevie Wonder has never allowed obstacles to get in his way.

Spotted at an early age by Bonnie White of Smokey Robinson's group The Miracles, his musical potential was realised and Motown promptly snapped him up in 1961.

This Monday saw Universal music TV release Stevie Wonder: The Definitive Collection which looks perfect stocking filler material this Christmas.

A comprehensive double album, this release charts Wonder's greatest hits from the 60s when he had his first hit with Fingertips. And it takes us up to his most recent Christmas single, with the UK's most influential boy band Blue, a remake of Signed, Sealed, Delivered.

The compilation covers his many eras starting in the 60s and progressing through to hits like Superstition and Sir Duke.
