POLICE are hunting for a man who posed as a police officer before robbing a 73-year-old in Lymm.
The man called at a house in Spring Lane at 7pm on Saturday and told the occupant that he was a police officer looking for forged money.
He searched every room of the house, looking in cupboards and under beds. The phone was taken away so that the victim could not make any calls. The man then left, stealing only the phone.
The thief is white, 6ft 1in tall, of medium build, and was wearing a white shirt, grey trousers and sandy coloured boots with yellow soles. He was seen escaping in a car that had been blocking the road.
Anyone with information can call the police on 652222.
