Mr John Thomas Corley, husband of Mrs May Corley, died of respiratory failure on November 15. He was 63.
Mr Corley, of Budworth Avenue, Latchford, lived in Warrington all his life.
He began his working life at Fletcher Russells as a gas range fitter, then later moved to Thames Board, and finally British Aluminium (Alcan) at Latchford.
Mr Corley enjoyed all sports, and played football for St Ann's School as a young boy and was cross-country champion.
On leaving school he played rugby league for Rylands, and later was a member of Warrington Town and the Grange clubs, where he played darts and dominoes.
He loved holidays abroad, especially Benidorm.
Mr Corley leaves his wife, a son, a daughter, a grandson, a brother, two sisters and his mother.
A service was held on November 26 at Christ Church, Latchford, followed by cremation at Walton Lea. The Rev John Goode officiated.
Arrangements were made by Co-operative Funeral Services.
