A 25-year-old from Latchford is the latest Warrington Kick Boxing Studio student to gain black belt standard.

Graham Sayer passed his black belt in wolf style kick boxing after displaying his skills in 10 tests that included fitness, pad work, teaching, first aid, sparring and board breaking.

His instructor Neil Holden said: "The board breaking was the climax of the belt testing as Graham had to demonstrate the power that is generated within certain techniques.

"The application being that if you can break boards with certain moves, then you could break bones with the same techniques in a self defence situation. Graham successfully broke boards with his fists, feet, elbows, knees and his shins."

Sayer is a former pupil of Sir Thomas Boteler High School and has been training at Warrington King Boxing Studio in Old Road for four years.

Since last August Graham has been competing on the amateur circuit and is proving to be a talented middleweight prospect.

He has a current record of four wins from five contests.
