SPECIAL guests Klaxons and Florence and The Machine are set to join Britpop icons Blur at this summer’s MEN Arena show.
The performance on June 26 will be the first time the original line-up of the band have played in the city in 12 years.
Chris Morrison, Blur’s manager, said: “Every show Blur play this summer is going to be unique and different, so we’re delighted Klaxons and Florence and The Machine have agreed to join us for the evening.
“Blur are really looking forward to this gig – they’ve always had an amazing reception in Manchester.”
Klaxons are expected to release their highly anticipated second album later this year.
The dizzy melodies, cosmic imagery and raging energy featured on their platinum-selling debut Myths Of The Near Future saw the album boast four hit singles including Golden Skans and win the Mercury Music Award 2007.
Florence and the Machine have whipped up a frenzy thanks to their single Dog Days and receiving the Critics’ Choice Award at this year’s Brit Awards.
A limited number of tickets for the Manchester show are on sale priced £25 and are available from 0844 847 8000, 0871 2200 260, 0844826 2826, gigsandtours.com or ticketmaster.com.
