INDIE stars The Doves have announced they will be playing the Parr Hall on Thursday, March 12.

The Wilmslow trio, best known for their anthemic tunes There Goes The Fear and Black and White Town, have been on an extended break since the summer of 2005 when they supported U2 and Oasis.

Their fourth album was expected to be released last year but it is now said to be complete and the band are set for a springtime return.

The Doves’ debut album Lost Souls and its follow–up The Last Broadcast were both nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, while their 2005 LP Some Cities went straight to number one in the UK album chart.

And this show represents another high profile coup for the venue at Palmyra Square.

Tickets priced £18 go on sale on Friday at 9am from pyramidparrhall.com and 442345.
