A NEW Domino’s pizza takeaway officially opened its doors to customers in a Warrington village this morning, Monday.
Located on Pepper Street in the heart of Lymm, Domino’s was opened by Cllr Ann Johnstone, chair of Lymm Parish Council, and Paul Smith, managing director of Cheshire’s Mix 56 radio station.
This latest opening is part of an ambition of SK Group, Domino’s largest franchise partner, to open 10 new stores ahead of Christmas, creating 250 jobs nationwide.
The Lymm store at present will employ 20 people, although this could rise further depending on demand, and recruitment is still ongoing.
For those looking to make some extra ‘dough’, Domino's Lymm is offering flexible working shifts to fit around existing schedules, with many training and progression opportunities.
Apply to be a pizza-maker or a dough-livery driver now by visiting dominosrecruitment.co.uk
The branch will be open seven days-a-week, from 11am to 11pm, and to order, use the Domino’s website or app, or call 01925 971477.
Speaking to the Warrington Guardian, regional manager Dan Carr said: “Lymm has always been an area we have looked at to ease the pressure off our Stockton Heath venue.
“We could deliver to Lymm, but not as effectively as if we had our own store here.
“Opening here made sense, as it gives us the opportunity to serve new people who were previously not prepared to travel to Stockton Heath or wait for a delivery.
“We are local to the area and want to be able to serve residents, and serve them properly.”
Dan also said this is a good time of the year to open, as the business has done its research and is looking to get involved in upcoming events in the village, such as the annual Santa Dash and Christmas carol concerts.
Residents have been promised ‘delicious pizza, hand-made with fresh dough, vine-ripened tomato sauce and always 100 per cent mozzarella.
While visiting the store, and with Christmas fast approaching and less than a month away, we tried ‘The Festive One’.
This featured succulent pulled turkey breast, marinated in aromatic sage and onion and specially cooked to keep its moisture, as well as Cumberland sausage, smoked bacon, red onion and mozzarella.
The pizza was finished off in a glossy cranberry sauce drizzle, leaving us in no doubt this was a Christmas pizza, with the popular dish not lasting long in our office and going down a treat.
Ricky Kandola, operations director at SK Group, said: “We are excited to open a store in the picturesque village of Lymm to deliver the nation’s favourite pizza.
“As we come into the busiest and most wonderful time of the year, we are also delighted to have Lymm as part of the 10 new stores we are opening across the country ahead of Christmas.
“We are passionate about enhancing our new community with employment opportunities, where people from Lymm can grow and develop their careers.
“More than 90 per cent of Domino’s store managers started in-store or as a delivery driver, so whether you are looking for a few extra hours or a completely new career path, there are roles to suit everyone.”
Those among the first visitors to the store were rewarded with vouchers for free pizza.
Lymm residents can also enjoy deals, including 50 per cent off pizza with no minimum spend by using the code GOGET50%, and two topping deals from £3.99 on collection orders.
