POLICE are looking for three women after a man in a wheelchair had £4,000 stolen from him in Warrington town centre.
Officers from the town centre beat team are appealing for help in identifying three women using CCTV stills.
They say they have ‘grounds to suspect’ the women to be responsible for a bank follow and distraction theft that took place on Monday, October 14.
The incident happened at around 11.30am in the Legh Street Golden Square car park.
The victim was in a man in a wheelchair who was followed from Barclays Bank on Market Gate to his car.
It is believed he was then distracted by the women in the car park while he was stowing his wheelchair.
The women then allegedly left with £4,000 of his money.
A Facebook post by Warrington Police reads: “We do know that they boarded a taxi that they took to the area of Whitworth Street off Manchester Road – we reckon this taxi would have been in this area at approximately 12.05pm on the 14th.
“We doubt they are residents of this area.
