ROADWORKS on a main route through Warrington are causing traffic chaos.
There are currently temporary traffic lights and a lane closure on Wilderspool Causeway.
According to Warrington Borough Council, this is to allow for Scottish Power to carry out work, namely utility repair and maintenance works.
The temporary traffic lights, which are located near to Saracen’s Head, will be in place until October 16 at 11.59pm.
While the lane closure, which is located just off Greenalls Avenue where Morrisons is, will be in place until October 12 at 11.59pm.
The roadworks have caused annoyance among many residents due to the traffic problems they are said to be creating.
One person described the traffic in the area as ‘absolute carnage’.
While others said over the last few days they have been stuck in queues in between 20 minutes and an hour long.
