Merseyside Police officers attended the emergency incident on the M62 near Warrington over the weekend.
The driver of the BMW X6 was said to have hit standing water when travelling westbound after passing the town yesterday evening, Sunday.
As a result, the car left the carriageway and crashed, with the driver receiving first aid after being helped from the vehicle by firefighters.

Two fire engines and the search and rescue team were deployed to the scene of the one-vehicle road traffic collision, with the BMW found on its side on the embankment.
"One casualty was conscious, breathing and out of the vehicle prior to fire service attendance,” a spokesman said.

"Merseyside Police also attended and closed the motorway slip road. The casualty was then conveyed into an ambulance and transported to hospital.
"Crews handed over to Merseyside Police to arrange vehicle recovery, before leaving the scene at 11.33pm."
