TJ Hughes is set to open at the Golden Square next month.
The discount department store will be based inside the former Debenhams unit which has stood empty since its closure in 2021.
It is expected to open before the end of October.
The retailer was once based in what is now The Hive on Sankey Street before it closed with all other stores in 2011.
Golden Square centre director Ian Cox said: “We’re excited to see the Golden Square thriving right now, over the last few months we have had four huge retailers join the shopping centre.
“Plus we’ve got even more to come before the year is out, so keep your eyes peeled for more announcements.”
The opening of TJ Hughes means that 25 new jobs will be available.

"Returning to Warrington, where we have a strong history, is something we’re really excited about.
“We’ll be recruiting 25 staff for the new store, and this move is part of the broader growth of the TJ Hughes estate.”
The news comes after three new retailers were announced the for Golden Square this month, including Foot Asylum, B&M and Kenji.
