TWO people have been arrested by police on suspicion of shoplifting in the town centre.
Officers from Cheshire Police have been deployed to Golden Square Shopping Centre today, Wednesday.
The deployment is part of Operation Servator, which aims to disrupt criminal activity while providing a reassuring presence for the public, with plain clothed officers also involved.
While in the shopping centre, two men were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and taken into custody.
The force’s Warrington Police team said: “Officers were in the town centre earlier today as part of the ongoing Project Servator deployments, engaging with stakeholders, security and visitors to the town centre.
“Two men were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting in Golden Square and now lodged in custody. Enquiries are ongoing with shops in the locality.
“Thanks to Golden Square security for their assistance.”
