A SUSPECT has been arrested after armed police descended on a residential street.
Officers from Cheshire Police, assisted by police dogs and a drone, were called to Samuel Street in Sankey Bridges on Monday afternoon.
The road was closed off following reports that a man had entered an address while in possession of a firearm.
The force has confirmed an arrest was made linked to the suspected supply of illegal drugs.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At 12.53pm on Monday, September 16, police were called to an address in Samuel Street in Warrington following reports of a man with a firearm entering the address.
“Officers, including firearms officers and a dog patrol, attended, supported by the police drone.
“They gained access to the address and detained a 45-year-old man on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis.”
